I DO NOT COLLECT DOLLS, I DO NOT COLLECT DOLLS, WAIT? JEEZUS! I GUESS I DO!!

Ms Marvel Tonner.
I DO NOT COLLECT DOLLS. I like action figures. Because i am a (real) boy. I don't collect dolls, oh no. I collect action figure made by talented doll makers in the shape of super-heroes.
So, no. Not dolls for me... except: designers ones (super-heroes only); ninja assasins (made by Barbie, oh damn), and Disney ladies ( but they are villains!! Not pretty, they're monsters don't count. AND then the real sad and blinding truth hits me like a tone of bricks.
My Bride of Frankenstein 12" is a doll.
My Viet Cong Sniper is a doll.
My NY police Department is a doll.
And so is my Cy-Girls, even if they have an arsenal and are hotter than hell in a handbasket.
Oh shit. I admit. I am @£$%^ and i am a DOLL collector. So let's own it and have fun with it!!
My Disney ladies above are (from left to right):
      Anastasia (from Ugly sister fame)
Jesse ( the one Vicky Bekham wanted for her niece, really??)
Needs no introduction. It's Meryl Streep/Glenn Close.
Bo Peep, plus three-headed sheep (as yo do) (japanese. Expensive).
Drusilla: secon half of famed ugly sister combo. Bitch. Love her.

and here, just to prove that a 1970's doll can look like the actress is
Bionic Woman extraordinaire Jamie Sommers (as portrait by the cool Linsay Wagner, ALERT the doll looks like the actress, and it's from the seventies!). Behind is the Golden age FLASH ( so hot!). In the middle behind Sienna Miller's Baroness from G.I.Joe movie are....the british Avengers; Mr. Steed and Emma Peel. I adore this as a kid). Back to DC super-heroes is Zatanna mistress of magic in her all 13" Deluxe Glory ( as is Flash). And finally but certainly the most expensive and rare lady to get is The FEMBOT!!
This robot lady cost me half mah brain on bargaining as i have a rule not to pay too much for some plastic. But i got her in her box NEVER BEEN OPENED (put creepy voice when you said this, courtesy of Toy Story 2). But i adore her. Oh what a surprise! I love the villain the most.

SO THIS ARE THE BITCHES.THEY ARE 16" OF NIGHTMARE AS THEY DON'T FIT ANY CABINET, so they have their own. This bitches are the Queens of my collection. They are:
On Top row: Raven, Starfire (both from The Teen Titans); Wonder Woman (first one); and Miss Piggy (12").
Below: Phoenix, White Queen/Emma Frost, Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch (all from X-Men? Avengers).

Madam left is MOTHER GOTHEL (from Tangled, not Tonner); and madam right is the Bitchiest of bitches. The Evil Queen Herself from Snow White. She and all the others except Mother Gothel are design by Richard Tonner; but all of them are ass-kick bitches. And may i say are awesome.
this is the 8" Miss Piggy Tonner that my sister kidnap. (i have a new one, bwah hah hah.)
Ms Marvel, in my hands. Love the bitch.
The Evil Queen (Tonner).
The first Wonder Woman by Tonner. She has the most beautiful face of them all. (i do not collect dolls).
Jean Grey as Phoenix ( dare i say Tonner?), shame about the gloves, but what could they do?
as they used to be, on the fire place...
Mother Gothel, the tall Piggy.
Raven & Starfire (both Tonner).
Phoenix & Emma Frost.
Avengers assembled: Ms Marvel & Scarlet Witch.
At last in their own cabinet. With added Supergirl.
Finally home (by a treat-literally) with Rogue.

Ladies and Gent. I just Heard Hawkwoman Is comin home. Plus yes i will better pics of the ladies. All coming soon.

Just BOOK MARK ME. I promise i will DELIVER UPDATES.

THE MUNSTERS AND ALIEN AND ALIENS AND ALIEN: RESURRECTION. CONTROVERSY!

The Munsters: Grandpa, Marilyn, Herman, Lily, Eddie and Woolf.

FACTS ARE FACTS. I watched many cartoons growing up, and i watched them all. Television was essential to my generation as it stop me (and children like me) from bothering mom from the real tasks of the day. Plus i had the coolest program on Saturday mornings. It all started with a bit of Mythology (but funny) for kids, followed up by a TV series from times past. One was THE LITTLE RASCALS/OUR GANG. The other was or course thE MUNSTERS. They show me that being different was Just about OK, plus they were funny with it. I just started a lifelong love for this family. When a year ago this set was released, it was in colour. Not for me. The series were in Black & ( glorious) White. It was part of the appeal. It look retro to hell, and i loved that.
So i waited for this wonderful black & white set. With the cheeky cuckoo clock! How awesome. A month later the car happened. And i had an orgasm-like reaccion. A positive reaction. Two problems: Car's not in scale. What ever... and second, much bigger problem: Lily Munster looks nothing like Yvonne DeCarlo (fuck!), (the other characters, including Marilyn do so). But hey, i am happy all the same. Figure collectioning is full of bitter dissapointment as is based in another media and nostalgia. What to do...
Mess of Alien/s.
I HAVE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE:
Many actors choose not to be inmortalised on plastic form for one reason or another. May it be supersticious or religious. The most famous case is off Sigourney Weaver (allegedlly!). As aparrently the actress wont like little children playing with a "doll" of herself with weapons as it inspires violence. I can take  many stances upon this:
First is that it may not even true Sigourney did not lisence her likenesses for a toy with a bi flamethrower. Nor she gives a damn (this is my believe as malicious rumours do fly).
Second is that she does have an Avatar acurate toy (but alas has a big machete, but not a gun).
Third and final: who the fuck wants a Sigourney Weaver or other actress action figure besides movie memorabila collectors and, yes let me say, adult collector. My kids i'm surrounded by want Batman and Spider-Man not some lady who can act and who's not traditionally hot.

WHAT BUGS ME IS THIS:

IF YOU ARE LUCKY TO GET IN THE BUSINESS OF JUST ACTING....BE GRACIOUS. YOU GET MILLIONS FOR 6 MONTHS WORK. AND IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR TOY TO HAVE A BIG HONKING GUN, DON'T DO THE MOVIE, AS MEMORABILIA HAS BEEN PART OF OUR LIVES FOR EVER!!!!

But Whatever. Perhaps (and i will watch Sigourney take a piss and i will pay: or any other actors for that matter). AND ladies and gent, that's why my ALIEN display sucks. My two Liutenant Ripley's look nothing like the actor. So i hate my display. Funny enough my Aliens look like the movie, shit even my Annalee Call (Wynona Ryder) looks like her. But alas no Ripley. So i had an Aliens RIPLEY made for me, which you will see. (but still no weapons ma'am).

Another problem is that the actor is so much up their own arse (allegedly!) that they do not approve of their own likenesses (O-Ren Ishii!!!), or so fandom let us to believe (also still allegedly!!-thank you Kathy G).

Nevermind. in the pic is the Power Loader Die-cast- with Ripley?!- an old Alien Queen from Kenner (which i like), a Ripley and Call from Alien Resurrection (in the most weird pose ever) and of course THE ALIEN QUEEN from McFarlane toys plus lady victim which is totally off the scale of how awesome it is.

POST DATA: My Power loader came with half of BISHOP, which does not look like him, but is a great detail anyway.

POST DATA TWO: Sigourney i love you>tell me is all rubbish, and a proper Ripley is coming. We need you! Promise not to voodoo!

KRYB, DORMAMMU, PSYCHO JENNY, WELVATH, BAYONETTA AND BARON ASHURA.

KRYB, DORMAMMU.
KRYB IS A VILLAIN FROM THE GREEN LANTERN COMICS. I love her cause not only she's female but she's hideous looking. The stuff of nightmares. Plus she steals a little-lot from The Greek Mythology Lamia which steals children in the night. Madam is from DC DIRECT. I adore her babies.
DORMAMMU is actually an oversize Heroclix as is simply the best rendition of the villain (not saying much as it is one of the very few). Dormammu is one of the two biggest villains of Dr. Strange, only one of my favourite Marvel characters.
Did i said i love villains?

Pycho Jenny & Welvath.

PSYCHO JENNY AND WELVATH are from the anime Devilman. Both figures are design by Yasushi Nirasawa, whom is a great Japanese artist. Hence in my collection. I saw some of he's art and i found out he had design action figures. The rest was not a brainwave really. These ladies are quite sexual for action figures. Psycho Jenny has breast with nipples at her back (really, i do love it as its so wacky) ; and Welvath are demon faces coming out of her breasts and her arms becomes mouths. Plus both come with two alternative heads. I will show. Give me time. I adore them cause the remind me of monsters from Studio Ghibli gone very wrong.
Bayonetta.

OK, Bayonetta. Let me check who the hell she is from. Who cares? She's got the longest legs and the coolest heels (guns actually), plus she looks awesome. She's made by Square Enix, which do pretty awesome figures and not so breakable as the Final Fantasy ones. Oh Madam Bayonetta owns her own video game. I don't play video games as i love them too much and i will get hooked.
Baron Ashura.

The BARON ASHURA is my favourite villain since i was a child. He/She is the right hand of DR. HELL, arch-nemesis of the coolest robot driven robot Mazinger Z, or Great Mazinga in Japan. Think Spider-man is big? Ask the Japanese. is all about Mazinga Z. This version is -as you can see- the most faithful representation of the character. And bloody hard to find at a reasonable price (there's so much i will pay, thank you) ; mine is from Mexico. I just think he is out there with Ultron, Dr. Doom, Darth Vader, Baron Karza, Darkseid etc. S/he's a great villain and have you notice? S/he's got one nipple.

SHIVA BYKE, HAWK & DOVE AND JOCASTA!

shiva motorbike from Final Fantasy.
The Shiva bike is very special. is very big and you can display both ladies together or separate. This is a pretty big toy. I chose to display it together as they are impossible to make them stand up.
ALSO be aware ALL Final Fantasy toys break very easily. All of mine are super glued.

I will talk at some point of which glue i use, which is pretty much industrial and can glue you to a post.

dove and hawk by DCuniverseClassics.

This are Dove and Hawk. I chose the DC Universe classics over the DC Direct ones, as they are more pose able. DC direct has the better sculpts but since Hawk & Dove are suppose to be nimble, The Universe classics were the better choice.
Jocasta Statue by Bowen.

This is my favourite character ever. It is of course JOCASTA from the 70's/80's Avengers.
I am aware that she is heavily inspire by Platinum of the Metal men and some Egyptian goddess. But the design by George Perez (only my totally fab comic artist) and the personality of forever being bullied, stuck a chord in the young me. If i ever get a tattoo it will be her. I have made my own 5" version, which i will show. Jocasta kick-start my love for all robotic females. I am a child of the 80's after all.

INDEX OF COLLECTIONS. NOT TOTALLY ACCURATE...

me incognito.
OK, so here we go... my virtual gallery...
I will be posting pictures (i have over a hundred) of general figures and i will coment on them.
Some pics will not be great so i will update them as i go along- please bear with- the goal is to get a little scenario so they can photograph well.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND, PART THREE AND FINAL: FROM HOBBY TO SERIOUS COLLECTOR.

SO ROLL ON several years after, in which i moved to not so sunny London, and strolled into a comic-book store, decided to get some comics to fill my very poor evenings, and i see the shop stores some Fantastic Four and X-men figures. I got one, and another, and another...you see, I discovered there was a whole generation like me that started collecting action figures, and now there were magazines that talk about it, and had price lists, and funny strips with figures, and i got hooked.

Today there are programs on TV about, figures go on sale on ebay for hundreds of dollars, and i found myself with about 2000 figures to this day, of different values and there's no sign of stoping. I get alarm for how much some of my toys get sold for on acuctions sites. I used to call my toys "my cheap art collection", but I am afraid cheap are no more.

This days they are under lock and key, in stylish glass cabinets, and i even possess an action figure "hospital and spa" where they get mended and bath regularly.

My criteria when collecting is simple:
     1- THEY LOOK AWESOME.
     2-NOSTALGIA
3-THEY ARE FAITHFUL TO THE ORIGINAL      CHARACTER/PERSON.

AND THAT'S IT. THIS IS ONLY INTENDED TO BE A VIRTUAL (VISUAL?) GALLERY OF MY ENTIRE COLLECTION TO WHICH OF COURSE I WILL KEEP ADDING AS I GO ALONG. ENJOY!

A LITTLE BACKGROUND, PART DEUX: THE BEGINNING OF A PASSION.

Original Star Wars figures.( I had 32 of this).

IN 1978, KENNER started to released Star Wars figures, and this to me and my best friend (still is) was heaven send. The amount of battles we created were epic. I venture for first time on my own (i have always been good with directions) to acquire my Princess Leia in Bespin outfit, and the rest, as they say is history. I got as many as i could, from then on.

Then around 1984, three toy collections were launched to my delight. They were:
Marvel super-heroes SECRET WARS, alas, no girls.
DC Comics SUPER POWERS, giving me my first ever super-heroine figure, of course it was WONDER WOMAN.
And MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, of which of course my first one was Teela.
To this day i always buy the female figures first. Not only because i like them, but they are also short-packed as children buy boys and gay children buy girls, and the ratio straight-gay is one to 10 (in that time probably more due to acceptance).

So there you have it, this are the actual figures i played with in my childhood. Of course as i got older i stop playing and stop collecting, even reading comics, as nightclubs had a better appeal, until...
Princess Leia Organa in Bespin outfit (mine is chewed by the dog).
